Discus Fish - What You Need to Know Before Keeping Discus Fish

With a compressed rounded body shape and gorgeous colors of green, red, brown and blue, (There are 4 ‘real’ discus variants, with their own Latin name. The rest of the color variants are captive bred and the list of these color variants is nearly endless.
They have exotic names like, ‘White Diamond’, ‘Blue Diamond’ ‘Snake Skin’, etc… ) discus fish are among the most popular aquarium freshwater fish in the world. Native from the Amazon River, Wild caught discus fish first started to appeared in the 1920s, discus fish are spread all over the world being part of true industries in Asia, for instance. When they reach adulthood, discus fish are no bigger than eight to ten inches and they make great pets, bringing an excellent array of lively color to your house. Make sure you know everything about the needs of this fish breed before even thinking about keeping them, though discus fish are not very fragile, they still require a lot of care.

Discus fish make excellent aquarium inhabitants and they can be combined with other species in the habitat, the best choices would be the uaru or the tetras species. Normally discus fish are very serene creatures; they are a bit sensitive to stress and a disturbing environment but most fish are. However it is not too great an idea to combine them with fish that are quite a bit smaller, as the discus fish may eat them. It is also totally unadvisable to combine any variety of discus fish with catfish since you might find you just end up with fat catfish and no discus. Like all aquarium creatures, discus fish require optimal living conditions; otherwise they are exposed to disease and may die.

As the natural water temperature the discus fish are used to, is around 26-31 degrees Celsius ( 79 to 88 °F ), you will have to recreate and maintain very similar conditions. The hardness of the water ranges from 3 to 10° dGH. Additionally, in the wild, the environment discus fish live in is slightly acid, so make sure you adjust the pH values to such coordinates, between 5.5 and 6.5 the pH is completely friendly to your pets. If the discus fish were bred in captivity they may just as well adapt to higher pH values, but not during the mating season when you really have to provide optimal conditions.

Keep in mind that discus fish are very clean animals, and the water you put in their tank has to be really clean, without the any trace of pollution whatsoever. You need to use a high capacity filter to cycle the water constantly.

The Responsibilities of Caring for Freshwater Fish

Usually freshwater fish are considered the pets for people that are either lazy or don't really want to take care of something They may like the idea of a pet but perhaps one that you don't have to interact with as often as others, underestimating the responsibility of freshwater fish care. Well, fish can be the pet for you but it is wise to understand that fish can't just be tossed into a tank and then left until they die. This is not proper handling of fish and they do require that you actually know a little something about them.

Research is always a great idea when considering a pet--especially fish, as there are SO many types of freshwater fish to choose from. If you're wanting more than one fish in a tank, be sure to find out whether they are aggressive or not, as some fish will literally kill others in the same tank. It is also wise to understand the environmental needs of your fish, such as tank size, whether it requires freshwater or saltwater, and how often the tank should be cleaned (some fish actually eat the "gunky" build-up on tank walls).

Of course feeding the fish must also be done on a regular basis. Talk to the person or store you got your fish from to determine what brand and how often they were fed before you take your fish home. This can save you a lot of trouble and worry later on. You don't want to under-feed or over-feed your fish if you can help it. So again research is an adequate process here like other pets.

Another job that needs to be done semi regularly is the cleaning of the tank. It is usually recommended that 1/3 of the tanks water is changed monthly. This is to guarantee that the fish are getting a fresh tank to live in.

If you remember to follow these steps and act accordingly when purchasing a freshwater aquarium fish, then you will be fine. Your fish should live a healthy life and last as long as they are supposed to.

The Worlds Best Sea Fishing Attractor!

Share |
Norway-based Esca Global announces the worldwide launch of its revolutionary new product platform, Esca Technology. Esca Technology convincingly mimics natural lure lights in the sea to attract fish and trigger their hunting and biting instincts, and thus tips the odds in the angler’s favour. Tests have shown an increased catch from 50 % to 700 %.

A revolutionary new product

Esca Global AS is the only company in the world to offer attractors that imitate the lure lights used in nature by marine life. Esca Technology is the ultimate fish attractor. This revolutionary new product is destined to become an essential addition to even the best-stocked tackle box. ESCA technology is integrated into small units that can be used as add-ons to any lures, on their own, or in combination with Esca accessories to maximize your fishing experience. Esca technology was also picked as one of Angling International’s pick of the best lures of 2009 to guarantee sales in your store.

How does it work?

Click here to Visit my eBay Store

On contact with salt water, the Esca units mimic the light wavelengths, intensity and frequencies of different types of fish and plankton. Esca’s blue light wave, for example, is identical to the light wave emitted by krill – the main food source for almost all fish species. Not only does the Esca technology include light waves that act as attractors, but the technology also creates an electrical field around the products thereby triggering hunting and biting instincts. All living organisms including fish are surrounded by an electrical field. When the fish sense the field around Esca products, they bite – and bite harder.its own electricity and uses no batteries. It activates on contact with salt water, deactivates when out of water, and works for more than 100 hours of active fishing. The units weigh 7 grams and are comprised of high quality technological components that are gold-coated and contain no lead and are therefore environmental friendly. The products are extremely robust and reliable and can withstand pressures at depths of up to 500 meters. Various light colors

Esca technology generates

Esca and bait is a winning combination

When fishing with bait alone, fish that are down-current may smell the bait while the fish that are up-current are not alerted. Imagine what happens when Esca and bait are combined. The upstream fish will now also be attracted by the light and the bait, while all fish, whether drawn in by the light or the bait, will have their biting instincts stimulated by the electromagnetic fields around Esca. Suddenly, fishing occurs in 360 degrees rather than only downstream. In darker environments where visibility can pose a challenge, a synergetic effect is achieved when combining Esca and nearly all types of fishing lures or tackle. In addition to acting as an attractor and bite stimulator, Esca improves visibility of the lure and tackle – thereby improving the fisherman’s odds.

Why We Kayak Fish

Share |
By Capt. Pat Horrigan

When you think about fishing you realize that there are many forms of the sport. Sight fishing is by far the most challenging approach to be taken. In order to be successful in sight fishing, you must have a stealthy approach or you will do nothing more than spook your quarry. Wade fishing has its’ place for sure but it can be a long walk and as you tire, you are naturally noisier by default. Using a flats boat is very popular and always will be and kayak fishing may not be for everyone as it requires patience. To achieve the most in stealth a quality kayak makes the difference between a long walk and a very expensive flats boat. There are many different fishing kayaks on the market today and that’s great. I looked for a long time for the right kayak to sponsor the Kayak Fishing ClassicS national tournament series. The Freedom Hawk 12 by Freedom Hawk Kayaks packs everything a kayak fisherman needs into a very slick, quiet unit. The biggest advantage yielding feature of the Freedom 12 is the easily deployable outriggers. This feature truly makes it the Stand -Up Kayak Fishing standard on the market. Why is that important? When seated low in a kayak it is difficult to sight fish. Great sunglasses like the Ocean Waves Sunglasses really help however having the ability to stand on a mobile, stable platform is invaluable. The sunglasses are still a must have item and Ocean Waves Sunglasses are the best ,in my opinion.

So now you have a stealthy, stand- up fishing kayak to make the experience better and you can see thru the water like a hawk. That still doesn’t answer why we kayak fish. Before I do that, lets’ add another stealthy approach to the fastest growing water sport in North America. Fly Fishing! Talk about stealth. Fly fishing is so quiet and natural. Light Tackle fishing can be very stealthy as well if done correctly and both are popular ways to fish from a kayak. Albright Fishing Products is the maker of some very fine fly rods and conventional rods. To touch on their fly rods for a moment, we feel that they are the best fly rod on the market today for what we do. That is saying a great deal considering some of the other brands. Tom Brokaw once said “ if fishing is a religion, then fly fishing is high mass.” Fly fishing is a subject for another conversation. Now you are ready to sneak up on the fish. Simply put, Kayak Fishing is extremely challenging and incredibly beautiful. You are on the water surrounded by nature. The fish don’t even know you are there. You lay out a fly and a huge snook charges and takes. If you do that just once, the question will answer itself for you. Many kayak fishermen, and in that I include women of course, also enjoy wade fishing. There’s nothing like a good stretch after a good paddle to your favorite fishing spot. Lets’ talk about that for a minute;

Have you ever heard someone say ‘you have to think like a fish’? To me what that means is what am I doing that triggers a fishes strike or fear responses? I want the fish to strike or take my presentation so how do I trigger the strike response? Or what did I just do that spooked the fish or triggered its’ fear response? One huge factor often overlooked is Visual Quietness. Just what is that? Have you ever been in a swimming pool, underwater and looked up at someone walking around the pool? If not, try it sometime and it will make a believer out of you in what I am about to share with you. In order to better understand Visual Quietness you need to understand Visual Noise. Everything in nature is a blend of many things in nature surrounding it. Wait,..What? For example a bright color on a bird is muted by surrounding dull colors. There are very few birds of a solid, bright color and those that are have developed that for a specific reason in nature. If you look up at someone walking around the swimming pool wearing a bright white shirt you’ll realize just how much that stands out. Or a bright green shirt or black or any solid color just jumps out against the background. If you are in your kayak or doing some wade fishing and you are wearing solid colors, regardless of the color itself, you may as well just go home because every fish in casting distance can see you. Remember, the bigger the fish, the smarter or more experienced the fish is. I never wake up in the morning and say to myself, I think I will go out and catch a small fish today. We fish for big fish because they are more of a challenge and more fun to catch. So why make it harder on yourself. Wearing camouflage clothing that matches the background of where you are fishing makes a lot of sense to me. Let’s take it up a notch. Let’s wear camouflage clothing that matches the background the way a fish see it. Remember how that bright white shirt looked when you looked up form underwater in the pool? It was also distorted and wavy. Here’s the notch; AQUA DESIGN has come up with a camouflage that mimics how the background looks to a fish. That is huge when you think about it.

When you put all of the gear together with a little practice, you have a very Visually Quiet, Stealthy, Stand-Up Kayak Fishing package. In my pursuit of putting together a World Class national kayak fishing tournament series, I searched many equipment manufactures to provide product and expertise for our fishermen. It quickly became evident who made the best gear and why they made it the way that they do. I then pursued those companies as series sponsors. The sponsors that you see involved in the Kayak Fishing ClassicS are not just sponsors. They are the best at what they do and the most qualified in the world to call themselves sponsors of the Kayak Fishing ClassicS. If you take the time to learn about these fantastic people and the products that they make you will walk away with more knowledge of how and why the game is played the way it is. The book is being written on kayak fishing and we want you to be a part of it. Please visit us at http://www.KayakFishingClassicS.com to be a part of it. FishGreen

eBay Is A Great Reference For Collectible Fishing Tackle Values

Share |
Using the "Completed listings" feature on eBay allows antique fishing tackle collectors find real information on what vintage fishing reels, lures and rods have actually sold for under auction conditions.

With the increase in demand and values for collectible fishing tackle, including vintage lures, rods and reels, many new collectors struggle with determining the value of their finds. When I am asked to appraise collectible any fishing tackle, my first advice is always to start with the "Completed listings" feature on eBay, as it is a great free tool for determining the value of similar collectibles that have sold on eBay in the last 30 days.

To use eBay's Completed Listings feature, first type in the item that you want to value in the search box at the top of the page. On the left hand column check the box for "Completed listings" and finish by clicking search at the top of the page. The result is a list of all items that match your search criteria which have auctions that have ended within the last 30 days.

Because the Completed listings feature only searches titles, not descriptions or listing bodies, it is usually helpful to make the search phrase broader than you would when searching for active auctions. For example "Ambassadeur 5000" will produce better results than "Ambassadeur 5000 in box". In this case the words "in box" might only appear in the listing body.

Compare the results to your collectible reel, rod or lure, noting the following:

• Did the completed item actually sell? If it did not hit reserve, or had no bids then the information is considerably less reliable.

• What was the condition of the collectible fishing tackle listed compared to yours? Condition is absolutely critical. Unless the rod, reel or lure is very rare, then the difference between pristine and very lightly used can make a dramatic difference in value. New collectors often overlook tiny scratches and wear marks that ding value. Make sure that you look carefully at the listing photographs to determine condition.

• Is there a box? Some of the boxes in my extensive collection of vintage Swedish fishing reels are more valuable than the reels inside. The same rules of condition apply to boxes. The same applies for instruction paperwork and other "goodies that would have been original to the boxed item.

• Is the model exactly like yours, and of the same age? A slightly different model reel, rod or lure might have significantly higher production runs, impacting value.

• Was the bid volume heavy? Greater numbers of bidders generally means that the sales price is more reliable. If there are only 1 or 2 bidders you have to guess as to whether there is a strong market for your collectible item.

Although not perfect, eBay's Completed listings feature is a great appraisal tool. It works best on collectible fishing tackle items that have had several recent sales. For extremely rare pieces, sales prices can vary wildly depending on how many heavyweight collectors were on line during the time that the auction was live. I have always preferred this "real life" appraisal system rather than a book value that can be months or years out of date in a volatile marketplace.

The bottom line is that there is a wealth of free collectible fishing tackle information on eBay. Take advantage of it, but before making a large expenditure check several sources rather than trusting in one "expert" opinion.

The Two Best Ways to Search for the Right Trout Fishing Tackle

Share |

Fishing tackle can be a complicated thing if you are not knowledgeable about the gear, type of fish and environment you will be fishing in. Just going to a sporting goods store and buying a bunch of stuff based on what the salesperson is telling you are not the best ways to go about filling your tackle box. Here are a few recommendations on how to go about searching for the right tackle.

Internet Research:

The single biggest mistake fishermen make is not doing enough research on tackle. Now days with the internet and tens if not hundreds of different magazines worldwide it is not hard to find out the quality and performance of a certain kind of fishing gear. For instance if I was interested in a new kind of metal being used for a hook, I could easily start my research on the internet.

99% of the time I find a person in a forum that was using what I wanted to buy. I would contact the fisherman directly, ask more information and then continue my search. I usually either find three good personal reviews on the product or I talk to the fishermen directly through private forum email.

Magazine Research:

Another good way to research a product is through magazines. There are some wonderful magazines that are easy to find right in your local bookstore or grocery store. Magazines like "Field and Stream", "Sport Fishing", "Fishing", "Fly Rod &Reel" the list goes on and on. You can even find magazines from different parts of the world that write article reviews on products.

With these two simple research methods, you will be off on a great start filling your tackle box with everything you need. One very important thing not to forget when trying out your new fishing gear; if you buy a product share your experience. Log into a forum and let people know what you like about the fishing product, its performance, the negatives and positives of the gear. It is a"pay it forward" kind of thing for trout fishermen. One good deed will be repaid with another.

About Your Trout Fishing Tackle

Share |

As with anything else in life, your trout fishing tackle can be simple or it can be incredibly involved. Some people like simple and others get as much enjoyment out of buying tackle as they do from catching fish. Whatever floats your boat.
Actually though, you really don't need too much in the way of tackle and gear to catch trout. A rod, reel, line and some form of bait are the basics.

The object of the game is to get the fish to bite your offering, be it a fly, spinner, live bait or some other concoction. How you present that offering to the fish is the trick.
One of the simplest setups to use is the spinning rod and reel. Rods and reels can be bought separately or they can be bought as a combo. It makes sense to buy a combo because the rod and reel are usually well-matched to each other and will be an efficient outfit.

All types of bait can be used with a spinning outfit except maybe dry flies. Dry flies have very little weight, which is why fly rods use weighted line to enable the angler to get the fly cast some distance away. Wet flies could be used with a spinning setup as they are supposed to be fished deep, and the weight added for this purpose will enable the fly to be cast a good distance.
Unless you are fishing for lunkers in Alaska, a lightweight line should be used for trout. 2 to 6 pound test should be plenty for most fishing requirements. A light line allows you to feel the fish better, an important factor when waiting for a fish to nibble at your hook.

There are literally thousands of lures made for fishing. For trout, spinners, jigs, stick bait, spoons, plugs and many other types are available. They all have one thing in common - they are supposed to resemble some natural prey that a trout would eat. Some look like fish, some like bugs, some like frogs and other amphibians, some are made to look like small rodents and the list goes on.
One of the tricks to bait selection is to use something that is available locally and is already a part of the trout's diet. If frogs are usually on the menu, then a frog lure may catch fish. A lure that looks like a small local fish may be just the thing.
Of course, a spinning rod/reel combo is made for live bait. Worms, crayfish, grasshoppers, crickets, salmon eggs and mini marshmallows are just some of the many types of bait that are used with spinning setups. It doesn't have to be fancy - just get it in front of a trout in the proper way and you will have a fight on your hands.
Fly fishing seems to get a lot of attention in the trout fishing world. A good part of this probably has to do with the way a trout striking at a dry fly sometimes jumps out of the water to grab the fly. This is very entertaining and can be quite exciting.
The fly fishing rod and reel are quite different from the spinning combo. The rod us usually much longer to allow for the whip-like casts that a fly fisherman uses to get the fly out there. The fly reel is a simpler arrangement of a simple spool with as adjustable drag. Fly rods are often made of carbon fiber or fiberglass in modern times.

The line of a fly setup is also quite different. Because flies have very little weight for casting, the line is weighted. It is weighted more heavily at the fly end so the line pulls itself off the reel when casting. Since this line is thick and would easily be seen by the fish, a lighter, thinner leader line is use for the last 7 to 9 feet of line before the fly. There is also floating and sinking fly line - the floating used for dry flies and the sinking used for wet ones.
Speaking of trout flies, again the basic premise is to make a fly that looks like some natural prey of the trout. Trout eat lots of bugs and bug larvae, so fly-tyers attempt to make their flies resemble whatever local bugs are food for the trout. Fly tying is quite the science, and many fishermen pride themselves on their ability to create some killer trout flies.

As you can see, trout fishing tackle can be a simple setup or you can go broke buying all the latest and greatest fish-killing lures and flies. Whichever way you choose to go, be sure to get some knowledge of fishing techniques and water reading before you go. That way you have a good chance of catching trout, no matter what you use for tackle.

9 Trout Fishing Tackles You Should Not forget take with you.

Share |

A fishing tackle is simply the equipment or things which are used by a fisherman or angler when going out for fishing. This definition covers a wide range of things since anything that are brought along for fishing can be considered as a tackle. There are at least 9 kinds or types of things you should bring along for a successful fishing.

Here is the list:

#1 – Hooks. This is a piece of equipment to catch fish originated from ancient time. It is meant to pierce the mouth of the fish, or in a more extreme but rare way, ripping the fish body. The use of fish hooks has been recognized for thousand of years to catch fish in freshwater as well as in salt water. A hook is usually attached to a lure or line which at the other end of the line is connected to the angler with or without a fishing rod.

Hooks can be used for a range of purposes, which determines shape, design, size and basic material of a hook, which may range from general fishing purposes to very specialized and limited application. Fish hooks are meant to be fixed to a variety types of baits, which ranges from artificial lures to live baits

#2 – Lines. This is a sort of string made and used in fishing activities. The very first lines were made of plant stalk and leaves. There were also times when horse hair, silk thread and catgut were catch into action. In these modern days, artificial material like nylon, polyethylene, dacron and dyneema are main substances used in the production of thin but strong lines. At present time, more super lines has been successfully developed

Material, weight and length are the main parameters used to measure a fishing line. Then, factors that should considered by a fisherman for a specific fishing situation and condition are the breaking and knot strength, Ultra Violet resistance, casting ability, floppiness, stretch, resistance against abrasion and visibility.

#3 – Sinkers. This is a device or weight, usually made of lead with any shape, to drive the bait or lure to drop more quickly. The weight can range from ¼ ounce used for trout fishing up to several pounds to catch a sea bass.

The plain sinker usually has a round shape like a pipe stalk with a bulging in the middle. At the two ends of the sinker you can find two loops made of brass wire. Instead of having two loops, the swivel sinker has a swivel at each ends to attach the line. The slide sinker is a tube made of lead which may let the line to slide into it.

#4 - Fishing rods. In addition to a hook, a line and a weight you can include a fishing rod as a light tackle. Angle is an English term for this fishing rod. At present almost all rods are made of fiberglass, carbon fiber or still and simply from bamboo. A fishing rod is in contrast with the fishing pole, which is simply a stick with a line tied to its tip and hanged with hooked bait or lure at the other tip of the line.

#5 - Fishing reels. This is a tool to deploy and retrieving the fishing line by the means of a spool that stands on an axle. The fishing reel is plugged together to a fishing rod.

#6 - Fishing bait. This is the common prey of a fish that is used to catch a fish. They can be natural in the form of worms, minnows and other bait fishes, night crawlers, frogs, little snakes and other insects.

#7 - Fishing lure. This is an artificial bait which imitates the live bait to attract and encourage the trout to strike. Electronic lures has been introduced to the market for maximum fishing results. The plastic bait and plastic worm (the Texas Rig) is also an effective lure.

#8 - Bite indicators. These are mechanical or electrical devices which indicate that there is something going on at the hook, maybe a fish tasting the bait or the fish takes the whole bait and get caught. The signs may range from simply the darting of a float up to a beep signaled by an electronic device.

#9 – Nets. This is a web formed by knotting a thin tread. The modern nets are made of nylon aside from the older wool and silk thread nets that are still in use. The suitable net for trout fishing is the hand net and is used to pull the trout of the water instead of using a hook.

Fishing Tackle - The Tools Of The Trade

Share |

Fishing tackle is an important part of getting that badly desired fish. If you do not have the correct bait, equipment and conditions they may slip away into the depths of the water. With the fishing market booming there are many dealers that have a variety of products. Some are better than others are of course, but really you should just find what works best for you. The type of equipment and fishing tackle that you use; will mostly likely change with the different types of fish that you may be targeting.

There are however some very important tips that can help you have a successful fishing expedition. One of the first things to consider is the type of bait that you will use. This takes a bit of planning to get ready for your big day. The bait of course will depend on the type of fish that you are fishing for. Much bait can be purchased from the local market or can be brought from home. Baits range from salmon eggs, chicken livers to what is known as stink bait. Researching the biting habits of the intended fish can assist you in choosing the correct bait.

The next thing to consider with fishing tackle is the hook that holds the bait. There are several different sizes and again depends on the size of the fish. It is important to fish with the correct bait or you may not get a good hook. Hooks are numbered and the smaller the number the larger the hook. For example, you may want to use a size 8 for larger fish such as the big mouth bass. Smaller hooks should be used with fish such as catfish and bluegill.

Sinkers or weights are what allow your hook and line to sink into the water. If the hook stayed at the top of the water you would miss the bottom feeding fish. Many stay in the depths to avoid being your target! Sinkers also come in a variety of styles and weights and should be based on the type of rod and water conditions. It is a good idea to have a wide range of sinkers in the fishing tackle collection to ensure you always have what you need.

Visiting a local fishing or sporting good store can help you fill your fishing tackle box with all the equipment that you will need. Part of the skill of fishing is ensuring that you are prepared and have the right equipment. Fish will certainly not bite on an empty hook, so be prepared.

Your Fishing Technique Will Choose Your Rod

Your choice of fishing tackle particularly rods depends on your  fishing technique. Anglers who regularly use several walleye fishing techniques during a day of fishing often carry three to four different rod and reel outfits, each set up with different lures and baits.

Please Review our walleye fishing rod selections below. We hope that you use these tips to purchase all your walleye fishing rods for all your different fishing Technique.

When you are selecting walleye fishing tackle specifically a walleye fishing rod for casting and trolling lures and live bait rigs in the 1/4 to 5/8 once range, make sure you pick a 5 1/2 - to - 6ft medium power, fast action spinning rod. This rod is the best choice for general purpose fishing.

When you intend to use small walleye fishing jigs, and walleye fishing lures weighing 1/16th - to 3/8 ounces for casting, make sure you choose a 5 - to - 5 1/2 foot, light power, fast action spinning rod.~For casting small walleye fishing jigs, and other walleye fishing lures and rigs weighing 1/16 to 3/8 ounce select a 5-to 5 1/2-foot, light power, fast action spinning rod. This rod differs from the medium power rod because when you are flipping the rod in the back position right before you release for the cast, the rod will flex, giving you extra distance which is great for smaller size walleye fishing baits and lures.

Make sure when you are looking for walleye fishing tackle for casting and trolling for walleye with large deep-diving crank-baits and live bait rigs weighing more than 1/2 ounce to select a 5 /2 to 6ft , medium power, fast action bait casting walleye fishing rod because this rod has more backbone than most spinning rods, it is better suited for heavier walleye lures and rigs.

For you live bait walleye fishing anglers, pick a 6 to 7ft light power, medium action spinning rod. This rod will cast much further than a shorter stiffer rod.

The Walleye is a very finicky fish and are known to be very light biters. When you start your search for quality walleye fishing tackle selecting the right walleye fishing rods is very important, and you need to look for a rod that will feel the slightest twinge of a bite. You will notice when you start shopping for rods that the rods marked "fast action" will generally be much more sensitive, than the slower action rods. I would suggest that you purchase your walleye fishing rods constructed of graphite. These rods transmit vibrations and are very sensitive to the slightest bite.

Other features that improve a walleye fishing rod's ability to transmit vibrations include a blank that extends all the way through the rod handle; one piece construction;and light weight, single-foot guides, ferrules and double foot guides add weight and tend to restrict the rods action. Just remember to follow these simple steps when purchasing quality walleye fishing tackle. They may save you some time, money and frustration.

What is E.S.P. Fishing Tackle?

Share |

Well, if you were thinking it was a new kind of tackle that would help you find and catch fish using some kind of mysterious psychic power, not quite. E.S.P. Fishing Tackle is a popular and well respected brand of fishing equipment. In fact, for many carp fisherman (and fisher women) E.S.P. Fishing Tackle is the brand of choice.
Carp fishing is growing in popularity. There was a time when some considered carp "junk fish", the ones you did not want to catch, and would quickly toss back if you did. But, over the years, many anglers have come to realize that fishing for carp is a worthy past time. And for many different reasons.
First and most importantly is the fact that you can eat carp, which you can't always say for a lot of the "sports" fish. True, some people fish simply for the challenge of catching a "big one". But being able to dine on the fruits of your labours adds to the feeling of accomplishment you got from catching the fish.
Another appealing thing about carp is their size. Part of the fun of sports fishing is being able to catch the really big fish, which is relatively easy when using quality equipment like E.S.P. Fishing Tackle. It's not at all unusual to stumble across carp that are upwards of 20 or 30 pounds in size. (Although carp 10 pounds and under tends to be better for eating.)
Another thing that makes carp fishing so appealing is the challenge. Serious anglers don't want to just drop a line in the water, pull it up, and find a fish dangling on the end. They want a fish that puts up a fight. And this is definitely true of carp.
Two more advantages of fishing for carp are its abundance, and the many different places they can be found. You can find these fish in streams, lakes and ponds all over the world. Wherever you live, there's a good chance there is a body of water where you can fish for carp nearby.
When fishing for carp, your best bet is to use a heavy, high quality rod and reel with a 15 pound test line. Anything less could be too easily broken by the weight of one of these weighty fish.
E.S.P. Fishing Tackle is a brand that offers a variety of rods designed especially for catching carp of all sizes and in many different environments. If you are interested in carp fishing, this line of fishing equipment should be at the top of your list.
